Good Outdoor Dining

It’s officially patio season and it couldn’t come at a better time! As restaurants are starting to reopen, outdoor dining is definitely even more appealing than ever. I’ve gathered my favorite Park City (and beyond) patios for the perfect place to soak up some sun, sip some cocktails, and enjoy some fresh mountain air!

MOUNTAIN TERRACE AT THE ST. REGIS DEER VALLEY

Enjoy some fresh mountain air and amazing views at The St. Regis. After you ride the funicular (it’s FUN) up the side of the mountain, sit on the Mountain Terrace to enjoy fine cuisine and signature cocktails. Try the famous 7452 Mary (that’s the elevation!) and stay for the nightly champagne sabering ritual by the fire garden at sunset!

SILVER STAR CAFÉ

Silver Star Café was voted Best View in Park City, so their patio is always a good choice on a beautiful day. And planning a biking or hiking trip with a lunch or beer break on there is a summer must. A local favorite for all the right reasons including live music.

DEER VALLEY GROCERY ~ CAFÉ

The BEST place to meet for lunch or coffee on a beautiful day! Their patio overlooks a lake and you can watch ducks float by and maybe some standup paddleboarders. It’s great place to replenish with delicious food after a hike at Deer Valley, or if it’s an afternoon hike, a great après hike wine spot. They also often have live music to up the ambiance even more!

BLIND DOG BEACH

So much more than a sushi bar, they’re also a mountain beach! Dine on their covered patio with mountain views next to a sandy lot for games and to entertain the kids (and well behaved dogs). And they’ve added a whole other side patio this summer! They offer fun nightly specials like Buck-A-Shuck with $1 Oysters and you won’t want to miss the nightly food and drink happy hour specials from 4-6PM. They also have a new side patio, doubling their outdoor options!

GRAPPA

Grappa was the first restaurant that started Bill White Enterprises. The building is over 100 years old and sits at the top of Main Street. It was home to a brothel and a bed and breakfast! It has three dining room floors and the patios offer beautiful gardens and water features that highlight from five different levels. They serve regional Italianfood and their Monday’s Locals Night is fun and a good deal!

BANDANNAS

Located in the Hotel Park City, Bandannas is awesome! Sumptuous hot breakfasts and hearty lunches make Bandannas a favorite among hotel guests and Park City locals and the patio with a view of the rolling hills of the golf course makes it an even better!

DINNER DESTINATIONS

Outdoor patios that are worth the drive.

BACK 40

Back 40 is a favorite dining destination that provides great food, drinks, and even better views of the sweeping Heber Valley. Everything is locally sourced (like really, really locally) and even their water tastes incredible as it comes from their own well that is over 200 ft. deep, sourced from an artesian aquifer. Always, an uh-mazing experience at Back 40!

AFTERWORD BY TUPELO

It was sad to see tupelo leave Main Street while they find a new home in Park City, but their next concept, Afterword, will still deliver all the warm hospitality and quality ingredients signature of Chef Matt Harris and the Tupelo team. Their new spot in downtown Heber is also just minutes from Tupelo Farm so the food is sure to be fresher than fresh. And it’s worth the drive to with its HUGE patio!

THE NOTCH

Nestled right in the foothills of the Unitas, you’ll find an unassuming log cabin called The Notch. Offering a wide selection of food and drinks, this is a perfect place to stop after an adventure up Mirror Lake Highway or to just get away. The best part is the large patio, you’ll feel like you’ve found a hidden gem and may contemplate buying a motorcycle!
